So, your paracord bracelet is done, all the knots are tied, the size is right, and you're just about to snip off the excess paracord and melt the ends to secure them. If you've made a paracord bracelet before, you're familiar with this situation. Now most paracordists may simply take the side of their lighter or scissors and mash the melted end down. There's nothing wrong with that, but I find that often creates a really smooth finish and doesn't actually look all that attractive.
What I actually like to do is texture the melted end of the bracelet with any sort of tool that has a knurled pattern on it. The result? A melted end with a nice patterned texture on it that actually blends into the texture of the paracord itself! A lot of viewers have asked me about the tool that I use to achieve this effect and it comes down to an exacto blade handle that came in a kit that was kicking around the house for many years. I have no idea where this little kit came from, but it works perfectly and

you can actually find these kits at most local craft stores or hardware stores. Also you can find them very readily available online. It's a really small detail, but I think that the extra attention to detail is worth it. Especially if you have paracord OCD like I do. Also, if you're making this bracelet for a paying customer, I'm sure that one day they'll be looking closely at their bracelet and they might even notice the texturing on that melted end. You can also definitely experiment with many other different textures out there that you might find on other tools. I've done a video on this previously, but I figured I'd do an update as of late. You can find my old video about this same topic here. Well I hope this post and video was helpful! - WOE
